Thursday FIVE Challenge: Serve Your Community

If you think about it, there are countless opportunities every day to serve those in our community. We can do that through small gestures like holding open a door for someone or paying for coffee. We can do that in bigger ways like volunteering at a local food bank like Love Chapel or by serving during an Inside/Out event hosted by The Ridge.

If we are to reach our community for Christ, it starts with us, with YOU. We need YOU in order to pull this off. So, let’s pray about what God would have us do today to better serve those that are immediately around us – our community.

Here are a number of ideas to get you started:

  • Pray for your community.
  • Write an encouraging letter to a community leader.
  • Donate to a local non-profit.
  • Allow someone to go ahead of you in line.
  • Buy the person behind you in line a coffee.
  • Pick up trash on the sidewalks.
  • Help Twelve Stones with landscape on Sept 23: https://ridge.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=98
  • Volunteer to help at The Columbus Marathon on Sept. 23: https://ridge.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=120

While you’re out and about in your community, tell us what you love about it and how you’ve chosen to give back today. Remember to use hashtag #Ridge5Challenge so we can follow along!
