In a Nutshell

Problem solver. Designer. Builder. Craftsman. Behind-the-scenes. Borderline OCD. Follicly challenged. Grandpa-of-four.

The Full Story

I came to know Christ at this church in 1978. About 12 years later, I took the lead pastor to lunch to discuss helping him fill an open position, and he ended up offering me the job.

Now, almost 30 years later, I’ve never regretted leaving my corporate job to become the Operations Director at The Ridge. I knew then what I still know now…that I want my energy to be focused on making a difference in people’s lives for eternity.

What I Do

At The Ridge, I get to impact people’s lives for eternity in a very behind-the-scenes way. As the Operations Director, I lead everything related to buildings, business, budgets, campus, support staff, and stage design. I also lead several volunteer teams and oversee volunteer connections church-wide. I love that I get to use my unique wiring to make The Ridge a church where people can come to know Jesus and grow to become more like Him.

Life Before The Ridge

Before joining The Ridge, I had a lot more hair and blended into the downtown Columbus landscape as a Cummins Engine employee. During my 17-year stint, my focus was on business systems and organizational development.

When I'm Not at Work, I…

When I’m not organizing people, places, and things at The Ridge, I’m most likely spending time with Lou, my wife and best friend. We both enjoy wellness, fitness, and being with our three sons and grandchildren. When I’m not with them, you can usually find me designing or building something – I can’t get enough of that fresh sawdust smell.

Something that May Surprise You

I gave $50 for my first car – a 1961 Ford station wagon with fins that turned the corner about a half a block after you did…a real chick magnet!
