Tim's Blog: How to Start the New Year Right

Parties, resolutions, goals and plans…oh my! It’s 2020 and for many, it’s a restart opportunity. Whether or not you make resolutions, you have likely thought of something you would like to start doing or stop doing in this new year. Either way, this is the time to hit the restart button on something specific to you. Join us throughout our Restart series that began last Sunday. This is a great way to identify a specific area that God may be prompting you to restart in a particular area of your life.

Is this the year that you are going to get into the swing of attending church on a regular basis? If that’s your resolution then put it in your calendar every Sunday morning for either 9:30 or 11am to join us.

Maybe this year you will take your first step toward serving by helping one of our community partners or volunteering at The Ridge. Join us in doing whatever it takes to reach our community for Christ. For more information about to how start serving, visit theridge.org/serve.

Is this the year you are going to engage in a group of some sort? Maybe you have a hurt, habit, or hang-up that you know you need to talk to someone about. If that's you, I would encourage you to attend a Celebrate Recovery meeting, Thursdays at 6:30 in the Hub. If you really want to get hold of your finances in 2020, joining Financial Peace University may be just the restart you are looking for (a new session begins January 19). Maybe you just know you need to connect with others and grow spiritually in 2020. If that is the case, mark your calendars for GroupConnect on February 23. GroupConnect is step one of joining a Life Group. Visit theridge.org/events to learn about all of these next steps.

Is 2020 going to be a year that the way you give financially takes another next step? Joining God in His work by giving can change your world. Will your step be to become a first-time giver, a regular giver, a percentage giver, or an impact giver?

Whether you call it a resolution, goal, or plan, you want to restart something new in 2020. Make it happen! Start 2020 in a way that makes a difference.

Whatever it takes,

Tim
