What Can I Do to Make a Difference?
So, do you sometimes hear about the sorrow and devastation in our world and wonder, “What on earth, Lord, can I do to make a difference in that situation”? The effects of famine, persecution, and even natural occurrences like volcanoes, tsunamis, and earthquakes, affect so many, and yet leave me feeling overwhelmed and inadequate to help. Reflecting on those feelings, I prayed for direction in hope of finding a relevant, simple, transparent global mission in which to serve and contribute.
I knew it was no coincidence when The Ridge decided to partner with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a couple of years ago. This Christian organization works with other organizations already embedded in countries where the need is the greatest.
FMSC packs nutritious meals that, in a couple of months, can transform those who are hungry and forgotten into those who are healthy and hopeful.
They bring a steady source of food to children at orphanages, schools, and medical clinics that know how to best serve the local need. It is also amazing how effective this organization is at quickly bringing food to families who have been displaced because of tyranny and natural disaster.
Volunteering at The Ridge’s FMSC mobile feed pack is so much fun, whether you’re 8 or 80, and it feels great to make a difference! We will be packing April 6th and 7th. Sign-up today: https://ridge.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/152/responses/new
