In a Nutshell
Family man. Listener. Storyteller. Mentor. Advocate.
The Full Story
I was raised in the church and believed from a young age before really figuring out what that meant in my teenage years. At age 17 I had one of those experiences you sometimes hear about where God gets your attention in ways you can no longer ignore and dedicated my life to ministry and I'm still on that same path today.
What I Do
As the Student Pastor here at The Ridge I work with students grades 7-12 to show them the love of Jesus during some of the most challenging years of their lives. As the saying goes, it takes a village and it is my honor to recruit and work alongside the many mentors who give their time and attention to students as well.
Life Before The Ridge
I've worked multiple jobs in the child welfare world (foster care, crisis intervention, etc.) and student ministry world (both paid and volunteer). Also, I used to work at Taco Bell and it's still my favorite fast food restaurant.
Words I Live By
John 16:33: "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (NLT)
When I'm Not at Work, I…
enjoy binge-watching television series, watching sports (baseball, basketball, and football), reading comic books, listening to vinyl records, and eating various versions of Americanized Mexican food.
Something that May Surprise You
I was randomly assigned Adam Johnson as a roommate in college and it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
