Why the Rocks?

You probably scanned this QR code because you were curious about the rocks, right? What are they? Why are they here? What do the words mean? On Easter 2023, Adam talked about how God “rolls stones” away in our lives. These stones, or these burdens in our lives, can be many different things – physical pain, mental health struggles, family hurt, anxiety, financial worries, etc.

On that Easter Saturday and Sunday, we wrote those burdens on stones and surrendered them to God, and they’re now out here as a reminder of how God is still rolling those stones away.  So what’s next? What do we do with this?

  1. Pray for people. Pray over these stones, and over the people they represent. Pray that God would continue to remove these burdens in people’s lives, and that they would feel God through that.

  2. Pray over your “stone”. Whether you put a stone out that weekend or not, pray about what that stone would represent in your life. Give that to God through prayer, and ask that he continue to be with you through that pain or hurt.

  3. Pray for the blank stones. They represent those who don’t have a stone out here. Everyone has burdens, struggles, and pain. Many don’t have the hope that God can bring to that hurt. Continue to pray for people to find God, and find comfort in Him through their hurt.

We can’t wait to see how God continues to roll stones away in our lives, and the lives of those around us.

“Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.”
