Regathering FAQs

We sat down with our Operations Pastor, Mike Morrow, to talk about everything you want to know about regathering at The Ridge.

Can we still attend online?
Absolutely. Our online service will be moving to 9:30am starting on Sunday, July 5 (our in-person services will be at 9:30 and 11:00am), and will continue to be available even with in-person services resuming. We encourage those who are high-risk or are more comfortable attending online at this time to do so.

Can I bring my family?
You certainly can bring your family. Since we will not be having children’s programs until further notice, kids will join us in the auditorium, and the atrium will be available if you need to step out with your child. We request that families sit together so that we can maintain social distancing while maximizing our capacity.

Speaking of social distancing, what are you guys doing for social distancing/cleanliness?
First, we’re asking people to stay in their vehicles until the doors open 15 minutes before the service begins. Then when you come in, head straight into the auditorium to find seating. We will have signage reinforcing social distancing, and signage in restrooms with handwashing instructions. Hand sanitizer will be available in the atrium. We have removed some chairs in the auditorium to achieve social distancing front to back, and we’ll space out families by two chairs. When the service ends, we ask that you proceed outside, where you’re more than welcome to hang out and chat (away from the entryway and with social distancing).

The playground will be open, and we ask that social distancing guidelines be followed and hand sanitizer be used before and after being on the playground. All hard surfaces will be sanitized before and after services, and, as an added layer of cleanliness, we are also using an industrial sanitation approach to commercially clean all used surfaces between each Sunday. Our plan is to have a totally touch-free experience in our building.

What do you mean by touch-free service?
From the time you get out of your car to the time you leave, you won’t need to touch anything other than the chair you sit in. The main entrance doors, as well as a set of the auditorium doors, will remain open. The back patio and café are closed at this time (bring your own coffee!), and our atrium desks are closed to avoid surface contact. If you are interested in giving, offering buckets will be available when you exit, to offer a touch-free approach (digital giving is available as well). Bulletins can be found in the YouVersion Bible App (under “events”), and will be available on our updates page as well.

What if someone who attended gets diagnosed with COVID-19? What if I am diagnosed after attending?
If we are made aware that someone who attended was diagnosed, we will share any information regarding that to theridge.org/updates. Keep an eye on that page for any important information. If you have been in attendance and then are diagnosed, please inform us at so that we can update folks who were in attendance.

Do I need to wear a mask?
Our first impressions volunteers inside the building will all be wearing masks as they greet and assist. We also recommend and encourage masks for those who attend, but they are not required.

Do I need to sign up to attend?
At this time, we are not requiring sign-ups to attend. We have a capacity number that we can fit in the auditorium, and if we reach that number, the auditorium would be closed to additional guests. We then have several overflow spaces that we will use if necessary, which have the same social distancing approach. Even though you’d be watching on a screen should we need overflow spaces, you’ll still have the opportunity to worship with others!

Anything else we need to know?
Our services will be slightly shorter to allow extra time for sanitizing, but we will still have the same music, teaching, and creative elements that we’ve always had. We’re still doing “whatever it takes to reach our community for Christ,” we’re just a little more spread out than usual.

If you have any questions about regathering, please email us or call us at 812.376.8455, and we'd be happy to help. We look forward to seeing you, either in-person or online, on July 5!
